Hot Lead!

I was checking out the weekend to-do list for the boat seeing if there was anything I could do quickly before getting the kids ready for bed. There’s a lot of painting and such on the list which would take too long. I decided to try to quickly pour the lead weight for the rudder. I banged in a couple of nails in to help hold it in place, poured a can of beans into another container, got out the camping stove and long raku pottery tongs and melted down the lead bars. I was surprised how quickly it melted down. The pour went very smoothly. It was much easier than expected. Thanks again, Shawn!
