Cold, windy afternoon in the carport but I wanted to see how the boat would take to some sanding. I sanded just over half the bottom, going through 3 disks of 60 grit sandpaper. The fuzz was not much of an issue. It sanded down pretty smoothly. The goal for sanding the epoxy is to remove the majority of shine, but doesn’t have to be 100%. I found two bubble spots where the fiberglass didn’t get wetted out well enough. Both spots where there are multiple layers of fiberglass, so I’m not too worried. I sand out the loose spots and fill it with some Quikfair epoxy resin putty I just bought from Duckworks. I bought myself some of the CNC cut fillet sticks too. They range in size from 1/4″ to 2-1/4″. Good for the next round of fillets on the inside. Time to figure out a paint scheme!
