More rain today. Yesterday after I painted the hatch cover and had it resting on a paint can in the carport, it rained so hard that the cover was all wet. Fortunately the paint had dried enough that it didn’t seem to do it any harm. This afternoon I got a second coat of dark blue on the hatch cover and finally started the white band going around the boat as well as the white on the rear deck. One more coat of that and a little more varnish work and this boat will be done with paint. I was supposed to make a small triangular breasthook for the front of the boat. I also need to figure out how I’m going to hold down the hatch cover which might require gluing some blocks under the deck for attaching things to. Those things can happen after launch day. Just need some decent weather and we’ll be paddling this thing.
